Medicortex Finland is dedicated to improving the diagnostics, treatment and prevention of acute neurodegenerative conditions. Current focus is on developing a novel biomarker based diagnostic test for traumatic brain injuries (TBI). After the development project the company will focus on a multiplex treatment for TBI.

Our Team

Product Manager, Dr. Begüm Utz has a PhD in Biological Sciences from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, USA. She has key experience in life sciences R&D project management and biomarker-based test development.

Senior Scientist, Dr. Ivette Bañuelos-Cabrera, PhD, has a degree in Neuropharmacology, with a post-doctoral focus on epilepsy and traumatic brain injury. She has 15 years of experience in neurosciences and life sciences basic research.

Scientific Writer, Dr. Leonardo Lara-Valderrábano has a PhD in Neuropharmacology, with expertise in sleep, epilepsy and traumatic brain injury.

Development Engineer, Kaisa Leppä, has a MSc (tech.) degree in Biotechnology from University of Turku. She is experienced in assay development and optimization.
